WHY AUTOMATION AND REMVOAL OF ROUTINE WORK IS GOOD – 'REALIGNMENT OF ORGANIZATIONAL VALUE CHAINS'

KEINOALY Provides Structural Change of Work

Most of the great innovations including credit card, WWW etc. were made already tens of years ago, but still even today majority of the people are doing routine work that produce little or no value for the organizations. Actually, routine work is decreasing value and bringing risks in terms of inconsistent quality of services, speed of service delivery and safety of delivery.

HUMANS MAKE MISTAKES, COMPUTERS DON’T

Even though majority of people do not seem to bother doing routine work, CEOs and managers should. One factor related to any work made by humans is possibility of risks and inhumane errors. We have bad days and good days. Sometimes mistakes happen, but trying to find them can be very slow and costly process. Computers do not make mistakes, if they do they have been programmed wrong way by human.

HUMAN PERFORMANCE IS NEVER THE SAME, WHEREAS COMPUTERS’ IS (MOSTLY)

As humans, we have good days, good weeks and even good years. On the other hand, we have days when everything goes wrong or at least significantly slower than we would like things to go. Any attempt to standardize human work is attempt to homogenize human beings into similar form, but at the same time this is against all the 21st century mantras ‘We are all individuals’. If we are individuals, why would we even make individuals function as machines. Computers can function effectively, without any breaks and bad day, and most importantly always maintain the wanted standard of quality (if it does not include any programming/technical errors in the first place).

HUMANS NEED INTERPERSONAL COMUNICATION AND MANAGEMENT, COMPUTERS DON’T

Routine work creates the need for middle management functions. Without routine work, there is no need for middle management either. Most of the middle management functions produce absolutely no value for the organization, just manage the routine workers and listen their needs. If workers do not enjoy work flow in the organization, Middle management have even failed their most important reason of existence. Middle management and routine workers aim to make the organization more productive; if they cannot their existence cannot be justified. In addition, most of the problems in the organization are related to problems between people, not between machines.

AUTOMATION OF ROUTINE WORK WILL FORCE PEOPLE TO ADD VALUE

Automation forces people to specialize and cast from distance how they can add value to organizations and societies (their environment). This also forces universities and education centers to focus their education to be more value productive, more exact and clearer. After this, students are able to say more clearly what they will do when they graduate, instead of giving the answer ‘I do not know’. Automation forces us to think how can we add value into organizations and society. From economic perspective, automation forces people to specialize into fields that add value to whole society, into fields that need experts instead of taking general education and graduating without any idea and knowledge what to do. When we know our value to the society we can serve it better, understand value chains and through that the entire business environment. Automation does not kill jobs; it just forces people to think how to add value.

AUTOMATION CREATES OPPORTUNITIES FOR DEEPER LEARNING AND MORE MEANINGFUL CAREERS

Currently automation is said to destroy jobs, but the other way to think this, is actually to think that it is routine work that kills work flow and gives absolutely no chance for learning and personal growth (see e.g. Maslow...higher needs). In a matter of fact, it is the routine work that destroys jobs and decreases work flow, because it adds no value for anyone and causes need to create automation that adds significantly more value. People should never compete with machines. People should be allowed to be people. Lifelong learning can be seen to mean many things, but it is hard to believe that anyone could say they enjoy lifelong learning when they work like machines. Automation allows people to learn and focus; these create opportunities for deeper learning and understanding of bigger pictures as well. Why would we want to use our most valuable resources (humans) to be machines and force us out of the area we currently do better than any machines (understand bigger pictures and see forest from trees)?

FOCUS ON RIGHT THINGS: KEINOALY GREETINGS TO ALL OUR SUPPORTERS AND MEMBERS OF OUR NETWORK!

Dear Friends and Supporters,

As you know, we are currently facing remarkable change in the world caused by continued technological revolution. This change is the most rapid in the fields that use different computer based systems and automation, but the thing is that today all fields need automation.

BANKING & FINANCE: Banking professionals rely on multiple different sources of information and different investment tools by aid of which they turn complex information into easily readable form, plans of actions and further into actions. Current world of banking is determined by complex interactions between different parties (that may not even be visible), complex financial products (e.g. makes it hard to identify risks etc.), large number of middle men (causing different types of transaction costs and fees, leading to higher prices), high hierarchy (slow decision-making processes), inability to respond SMEs needs (affects the whole economy) and manipulation (the power of few in the source of information). After the current digital revolution (digitalization) the world including the world of finance is no longer the same. One attempt to create Alternative Virtual Economy is our CE project (read more from our website www.keinoaly.com or contact team KEINOALY, info@keinoaly.com , for further information).

HEALTHCARE & MEDICAL TECHNOLOGY: As a result of technological revolution also our thinking has changed dramatically. No longer we accept the fact that health is a state beyond our control, but rather try to actively affect to it. This structural change in thinking has also partly caused medical industry to expand rapidly. Currently we constantly challenge the limits set by the nature and try to overcome them.

HR(M) & BUSINESS MANAGEMENT: For example, HRM and Management were created in order to make sure people did what they were supposed to do in a strict control. Management used to be a way to control and restrict, rather than way to coach or support like it is seen today. As a result of new technological solutions, the entire structure of work has changed. Work is now not only ever increasingly independent of time and place, but also way to achieve higher needs (self-actualization needs referring here to Maslow Hierarchy of Needs).

STRUCTURAL CHANGE IN SERVICES: As a result of industrialization created more wealth, people needed services to get daily luxury into their lives. As a result of central banks started to boost economy by cheap money, the demand of different products and services increased. Service sector used to be highly labor intensive; this all changed with technological improvements and new solutions: many areas originally services produced by humans were replaced by services produced by machines.

EDUCATION & LEARNING: Learning has always been associated by getting higher and being able to do something what one is not able to do without this process. Back in the days learning used to be a way to achieve knowledge to do the work one was supposed to do. Nowadays learning is referred to constant process of staying updated in the society.

BUILDING & CONSTRUCTION: As a result of new forms of technology, humans were able to reach unbelievable things also in areas of Building and Construction (also including Design). Whereas having place to stay started from the need to get shelter from environmental threats; nowadays “where we live” and “how we live” is part of who we are (build into our identity).

ENERGY: Not only how we live has experienced magnificent fundamental changes, but also how we power everything around us has changed dramatically. As society and technology improves and the use of it expands, also the need to power that change increases dramatically. We need more power to boost the new standard of living and new norms/new standards regarding environmental impact. Energy as industry today is one of the most dominating fields in Science, just as important as Healthcare.

TRANSPORTATION: Globalization has set new needs on transportation as well, we need faster and more reliable ways to get people and material at any given place globally. Transportation is one of the most important aspect of infrastructure in any given society as if we cannot get to place B from place A, we cannot function. Even though technology has dramatically changed the need to physically move around, there are still everyday situations when we need to move for one reason or another. Without transportation, this would not be possible for significant amount of world population.

TELECOMMUNICATIONS: Whereas on the other side we have physical need to transport people and material, on the other side there is need to transfer data. Without telecommunication industry, we cannot use many of our technical solutions and systems. Telecommunications is the other needed fundamental base in any given society. If we cannot communicate, we cannot maintain our current society in function.

SECURITY AND DEFENSE: Our fundamental need is to be safe and keep what is important for us secure: As a result of technological revolutions and ever improving new generation solutions, there is also ever-increasing need for security and defense improvements. Reasons are still the same as before, but the need for especially material and crypto field security is expanding rapidly.
